Art flakes[edit]So, I was not planning on going to Animecon this year, but the three Tea Tales books that were produced in 2012 (
I've got Batman in my basement!,
The House of Forbidden Dreams and
Dode Poes en Vissekop) are nominated for the
Dutch Manga Awards, so now I'm going on the Friday.

Hello everyone,
It's been a while since I last wrote a journal. I apologize for that. Currently I'm working on my thesis, which means I should be able to get my Bachelor degree this summer... The keyword here is should, because I also have some re-exams to take. In any case, it is rather stressful. I'm doing my thesis with the Food Chemistry group and it is about enzymes, I could be more specific, but it is very difficult science talk.
My goal is still to go to San Diego in 2014. Click
here for more information. You can
commission me here or you can
commission me via the Tea Tales site.
I did some Tom and Drake pages, but I stopped again. I'm terribly sorry about that, it is just hard. Also there aren't a lot of people voting on pages anymore. The last page is currently a tie and I can continue the comic without you people voting on it anymore, but I don't know if I have the energy for it. Seeing as I have a lot of other projects. What do you think? What should I do?
I went to a couple of events with
Tea Tales.
Tsunacon in February,
Stripdagen Gorinchem in March and
Yaycon last weekend. *
yolin and ~
ArtificialApplepie were there for Tsunacon. I remember that there was a lot of snow when I started my journey to Rotterdam for Tsunacon early in the morning, but the rest of the day was relatively dry. ~
ArtificialApplepie and I were on Gorinchem together. The stripdagen in Gorinchem were nice. It was rainy, but I spend most of that weekend inside anyway, so I wasn't bothered. Aniday wrote mentioned us in a nice article about Gorinchem. I took a friend from university along as conbuddy for Yaycon. Yaycon was fun! Though I had to wait quite some time for the tables before I was able to set the table. Also I did not appreciate the fact that the artist's alley was so near the entrance, it was rather chilly early on the day and there were a lot of children for a convention that it supposed to be for adults, because the artist's alley was also the entrance to the library. Sorry, but that was not very smart. I want to thank everyone who passed by our stand to buy something, to look at our goods or even to have a little chat with us.
We are working on Tales of Bluebury book 3 now. The deadline is set - though it might still be changed - and the book should come out in time for Abunai. We meant for it to come out earlier, I mentioned it in my last journal, but all the artists had lives to attend to at the time. Check out the
Tales of Bluebury page on the
Tea Tales site and the
Tales of Bluebury books 1 and 2.
I worked on the new Aniway Calendar. It should come out in during Animecon and I'm not allowed to post my illustration yet, but I will do so end May.
Some time ago I bought a bunch of dummies for drawing. I filled one recently and I will post some of the doodles here. First I have to filter them though.
So, I have a couple of
personal projects going, like rewriting Demons 'n Pirates to comic form and writing a comic about taboo relationships. Also I am making a comic about food. I'm really looking forward to this. That's all you need to know about these projects for now. Please do not get to enthausiastic, I have no way of knowing if I will ever get these projects developed enough for you to enjoy them.
